Banff National Park, Canada

Well, it's been awhile, but I have something awesome to share! Chrissy surprised me with a trip to Banff, Canada for my birthday! Our friends, Preston & Edie, also met us there! It was the best ever. We hiked so much and in between the hikes, ate amazing food in the small town of Banff. Edie was scared of bears and kept trying to convince us to purchase a $70 bear spray, but we didn't end up seeing any bears anyways. We did see lots of Bull Elk, White Tailed Deer and other small critters. We also saw some Canadian Geese in their natural lands while canoeing down the Bow River.

Hope you enjoy the small selection of a few of my favorite images!

Mitchell Point, Columbia River Gorge

It's been awhile, blog! Sorry for the lack of updates.

Recently, Chrissy and I hiked to Mitchell Point in the Columbia River Gorge. It was a foggy, somewhat chilly day, but hiking the steep elevation quickly warmed us up.

Here is a photo about half way up the hike.

Until next time.

Thanksgiving Hike

Chrissy and I aren't really into the whole holiday thing, so we decided to take advantage of the vacant hiking spots around Portland instead!

Here are a few photos from our hike at Oneonta Gorge!

It's in the middle of the rainy season here in the Pacific NW, so the waterfalls are in overdrive!

Winter in Portland also means endless amounts of fog.

Bonus picture! Here is one of the few remaining roses in Portland.

I already miss all of the flowers, but at least Portland stays green all year long!

Until next time!

Smith Rock

This past weekend, Chrissy and I traveled to Smith Rock in the high desert of Oregon. The drive led us through canyons and over rivers.

It's amazing to be able to drive from lush green forests and a rainy climate to sunny desert in two and a half hours.

Chrissy and I hiked around these canyons before setting up camp near Smith Rock. The temperature was great during the day, but it dropped to 30 degrees at night! It was definitely the harshest conditions we have camped in, but it was so much fun and we came prepared with lots of warm blankets!

The following day we headed to Smith Rock State Park.

Cottonwood Canyon

Cottonwood Canyon is about 2 hours east of Portland. It was amazing driving from Portland which was grey and rainy, through the Columbia River Gorge which was foggy, and then to the sunny, desert like landscape of Eastern Oregon.
